Jen Thompson – Associate Operations Project Leader, The Hershey Company

Jen has been an industrial engineer with The Hershey Company since 2001. Throughout her career Jen has supported new product commercialization, lead capital project development, and created on-going affordability by driving lean improvements across the supply chain.
Jen has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University. Jen has been an active member of IIE since 2001. She served as the IIE Director of Publications in 2002 and 2003. Jen volunteers her time in classrooms, teaching students the importance of business in the community through the Junior Achievement program. She has also recently volunteered her time helping with National Engineer’s Week activities such as the information booth at the Whitacker Center, and judging the Central PA’s Regional Future City Competition.

Jen chose the IE profession because of the positive impact IE’s have on businesses. Implementing improvements in manufacturing, and being a part of new product launches has been very rewarding. On her spare time, Jen enjoys exercising and reading. She also enjoys traveling and hopes to go to Italy one day. Until then, she thinks about traveling while dining at her favorite restaurant Fuji-do with her husband.
